The Story
What happened behind the performance
RSJ at NESCO, Mumbai
On 19 September 2026, RSJ brought its live show to NESCO, Mumbai, for an intimate private performance attended by approximately 70 to 80 guests.
Led by brothers Rishabh Jain and Sambhav Jain, RSJ combines two lead vocalists with a live ensemble of keys, percussion, drums, sampler and tabla, guitar, bass and flute.
Although the audience was intimate, the production requirement was not small. The wider technical rider covered artist backline, microphones, DI systems, monitoring, IEMs, wireless coordination, stage power and musician placement. The Backline Company’s delivered scope for this engagement was backline only.
The artists behind RSJ
RSJ is fronted by brothers Rishabh Jain and Sambhav Jain. They were joined by Krishna and Chetan Singh on keys, Shubham Jaiswal on percussion, Prabal on drums, Sourabh Rathore on sampler and tabla, Yash Samvedi on guitar, Saptarshi Medhi on bass and Flute Harmony on flute.
The live production was mixed by Shantam Tambe, with Mr Uddu and Disha Bhattacharjee supporting the team behind the scenes.
A complete live-band requirement
The RSJ technical rider reflected the needs of a complete concert ensemble. Each musician’s position had to be planned across the stage, with the right backline equipment, amplification, stands, cabling and supporting accessories.
The backline requirement included:
- Pearl Reference One drum kit and Pearl drum hardware
- Zildjian K Series cymbals, LP timbales and additional percussion
- Yamaha Montage M6/M7 keyboards with supporting keyboard amplification
- Fender Twin Reverb guitar amplifier
- Ampeg SVT-4PRO with 8x10 cabinet
The wider production rider separately covered microphones, DI systems, monitoring, IEMs, wireless coordination and stage power. Those services were outside The Backline Company’s contracted scope for this engagement.
The Backline Company’s role
The Backline Company translated the approved RSJ requirement into a practical, production-ready backline package. Our work included rider review, equipment selection, backline preparation, pre-dispatch checks, on-ground setup and soundcheck readiness.
Small audience. Full production standards.
An intimate performance does not necessarily mean a simple production. For RSJ’s NESCO performance, the audience was approximately 70 to 80 guests, but the artistic and technical expectations remained at a professional concert standard.
The room was smaller. The attention to detail was not.
As Sambhav Jain wrote after the performance:
“Sometimes, it’s not the size of the crowd, but the energy they bring with them that makes a night unforgettable.”
For The Backline Company, this is the essence of professional backline support: the right equipment, the right preparation and confidence that the stage is ready when the musicians arrive.
